Doing What Grandparents Do Best, Spoil Their Grandchildren
It is the job of grandparents to spoil their grandchildren. We feel that this is what we are here for. We buy things for them. Things like toys and now and then something for their rooms. Kids bedding is always a welcomed gift. We teach our grandchildren about their family heritage. Children want to know where they come from. This is a great time to teach them about their culture. We try to make sure they are being nourished in the things that we feel are important. Grandparents can play a role in a child’s life building character and teaching values that will guide their futures. As grandparents it is our job to make sure our grand children know that they are loved. Depending how close you live to your grandchildren, there are things that you can share with them.
Having meals with the grandchildren is an excellent time to instill values like offering thanks to God for our food. It is also a great time for family conversation. It is important to have meal time be a sharing time. This is a time when we can all enjoy having conversations with each other. It is a time of interacting with family members. There are few things that are more important. This is when we can really get to know each other. Manners are an important part of meal time. Manners show respect, and respect is important. If we don’t respect our own families, how do we respect anyone else? This is a great time to teach the importance of saying “please” and “thank you”, or “may I be excused please”? What better time to teach this then when we want to ask someone to “pass the bread” please? It is important to start when children are young. That way it becomes part of the family tradition, in other words it is a natural occurrence in your family. When your grandchildren grow up and have families of their own they will remember and teach their children the same things. Our country seems to have lost a lot of family traditions. However it does not have to be that way. We can change things one at a time. It is called quality time. It really is important and we should start today.
Do your grandchildren know you love them? This is a question that all grandparents should ask themselves. The best way to let your grandchildren know you love them is to tell them so. You should tell them often. It does not cost anything, and has the reward of keeping communication with them. This is a great way to show that we respect them and support them. We should brag about our grandchildren. Let them know that we are proud of them when they do something good or right.Grandparents can be great cheerleaders. It is great to go to their sporting activities and cheer for them. Also we can go to recitals, plays and such things. This is a great time to let them know that grandpa and grandma are proud and care enough to show it.
Remember, the greatest investment we can make while we are alive is in our children. Think about it, nothing else really matters in the long run. There are many ways to spoil a child. We can lavish them with things and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem with things is they are just that, things. Things tend to disappear. In a few days, weeks, or years we hardly remember them. Another way to spoil our kids is to give them values. Values tend to last a lifetime! And often times the one that taught the values is remembered too.

Gardening With Your Kids
Gardening With Your Kids
Summer is on the way, it will be here before you know it. One of the greatest things you can do with your kids is to plant a garden, but you must beware or you may be buying new kids bedding. Be prepared to have some dirty kids. Be on the watch for your kids bedding, because it may be in danger. Most parents understand that kids are fascinated by digging in the dirt. Your kids will have to take their baths before going to their rooms to play.
This can be a delightfully happy time for both the parents and the children. Of course, like most things in this world gardening can be complicated. What kind of a garden do you want to plant? There are vegetable, herb or flower gardens, or maybe you will make a combination of one or more of these choices. If you do not have enough room to make a garden or your landlord won’t permit you to dig up the ground, you can still have your garden in pots, consider planting cherry tomatoes and basil in pots. Another way is to participle in a local farm co-op. Participants receive fresh vegetables in exchange for volunteering for a few hours on the farm each month. Whatever you choose, you do need a plan. It doesn’t matter where you live, you can have a garden that will be valuable to your family, and the best part is that your children will have a great time learning and playing in the dirt. If you are a serious gardener, you will want to check the pH of the ground. The pH scale goes from 0 (very acid) to 14 (very alkaline), with 7 being neutral. Most soils in home landscapes are going to range from 6.0 to 7.5. Extreme pH levels are fairly unusual, but can still be found. If you do a search on line you can find pH meters for as little as twenty dollars. Keep in mind that you can use this year after year. If you ask when you buy your seeds, most places will be helpful giving you the information you will need to be successful. This is something that you can teach your children. Not all plants like the same kind of ground and temperatures. Kids will be fascinated and pick up a lot of information rapidly. Children are proud of themselves when they learn new things.
Depending on where you live, you should plant different vegetables at different times. For instance in Wisconsin, or other colder states like Minnesota, Michigan or northern Iowa you will want to plant things such as radishes and peas early because they grow better when the nights are still a little on the cool side. This means you would want to plant these things around the middle to the end of May. By the time these vegetables are being harvested, it will be time to plant your tomatoes, onions, lettuce and so on.
Your children will be excited to see the plants as they sprout. Teach them that they must water and pull the weeds so your plants can grow up and be strong enough to produce the crop you will harvest in the later summer or fall. Kids are excited to see the fruit starting to develop from a flower. This is a great time to explain about pollination and how important bees are to us. There are lessons all the way to the final stage which is when your vegetables are mature and ready to harvest. Think of the fun your kids will have while learning the lesson that nature has to teach us about our food. There are lessons to learn about from soil treatment to pollination and finally harvesting the crop. What a wonderful way for kids to learn where their food comes from.

Moving Day, Picking Out Kids Bedding Is Fun
“Moving day and we are going to our new home”! This is a source of excitement, and sometimes anxiety among children. Many times there is a feeling of loss. They have had to say goodbye to many of their old friends, and will have to make new friends. They may be changing schools. They are not sure if they will be accepted into the new neighborhood. There are a million thoughts that go through a child’s mind at a time like this. Their emotions are running wild. They have so many concerns that they have to deal with. It is times like this that they need our support and understanding most. So far in the life of a child, this may the biggest day in his/her life. Change can bring about so many doubts and concerns. Children sometimes get the feeling of being almost lost. It is hard for them to know what to expect and just how to adjust. It is amazing to watch them go through this process. They are resourceful and resilient. Most kids have the ability to make new friends in a short period of time. Then, they discover new things about their new home that their parents didn’t even know. Pretty soon they are feeling better about the whole situation. They are quick to gain information about the neighborhood from the new kids that they now call friends. Usually within days or weeks they have a grip on the whole situation. Now the excitement focuses on their new friends and their new school, and sometimes their own room. Moving can be fun, especially if they get to help pick out their own bedding, and bedding accessories.
It is important to allow children to have input in selecting things for their rooms. Depending on the age of the child, this can range from the color that the walls are painted, to the pictures on the walls. For sure one of the most important items in their room is their bed. It is a good idea to let them help (with the parents’ guidance of course) in choosing the theme of their own room. Picking out the sheets and comforter for their beds gives the child joy. Watch them delight in the choices they make. The anticipation of waiting for packages to arrive in the mail, with their name on them gives them something to look forward to. This gives them a feeling of belonging. It says that they are important and have some say in their lives. They are beginning to make some decisions that impact their own lives. This can be a great confidence builder. One of the most comforting and reassuring things that a child can experience is to help decorating their very own room, full of things that belong to them. This has a profound impact on the adjustments they must make. By having their own space, it gives them a place to think out their problems. Part of having their own space is the input that they have had in decorating that room. This is a tremendous confidence builder in the life of a child. It says they belong and they are important.
Today we have many advantages over our parents of just a few years ago. We have the internet. The internet is a great place to shop for kids bedding and bedding accessories. Take advantage of the internet, it is truly a wonderful place to shop. Kids love computers, and here they can see the things they want for their rooms, in a few days the packages come (with their name on it) and it contains the very things they picked out with their parents on the computer. This is fun and a great adventure for the beginning of a new home in a new neighborhood with new friends.

Remodeling? Kids Bedding, And Bedding Accessories Are Important
When designing a bedroom for a child you must remember who the room belongs to. Be sure your child has some input in the selections you make.
Sometimes kids seem to want everything they see, or not, depending on the child’s personality and age. They do not understand how to design their rooms. You will need lots of patience, sometimes you will have to be firm with them and say “no” we’re not going to do that. The theme is important. Will it be animals, space ships, fire trucks, cowboys, bugs, flowers, ships, trains, or something else?
Here are some questions you will have to answer.
For instance:
1. What is the amount of money you are going to spend?
2. What colors are you going to use?
3. How much control will you give your child when it comes to picking what they want?
4. What product/s will fit your needs best?
5. Are you going to do the whole room or just the bed? (There are lots of kids bedding possibilities, when this is coupled with the right bedding accessories you will have a winning combination).
6. Will you paint? What about wall borders? Pictures on the Wall? How about rugs, clocks, growth charts, sheets, comforters and the list can go on and on.
Like most things, this project can get out of hand. What starts out with a simple idea can soon become a very complicated problem. You need to spend some time considering how far do you want to take this? The age of your child may be a factor. If he/she is at a transformation age, it may not be a good idea to change the whole room if in a year or two they will outgrow what you are going to do. For instance, if your child is an infant, get toddler bedding. This way you will save by buying the bedding once instead of twice.
Be sure to spend some time with your child, maybe looking at different websites. Letting them see what is available, this can be a big help. It will tell you what your child has a passion for, and can be useful in choosing everything from your theme to colors of products.
At this point it seems that we have more questions than answers. However, it is important to evaluate the whole idea, come up with different scenarios and settle on one. Then the trick is to stick to it. This will save you time and money in the long run. Changing your mind in the middle of a project can get expensive. A well thought out plan is a money saver!
The reward is at the end of the project when you see the delight on your child’s face. This is the truly great thing about kids, their excitement. Wouldn’t it be great to have that kind of zest for your life? The end result will make all your hard work pay off.
